Multiple postdoctoral and student positions are available in the Ma Lab in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. We are looking for curious, motivated scientists interested in single-cell and spatial genomics, epigenetics, gene regulation, and disease biology.

What We Do
Our lab develops experimental and computational technologies to investigate epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation at single-cell resolution across dynamic cell-state transitions. We are interested in understanding how regulatory programs shape normal development and how these programs are perturbed in aging and disease.
We develop scalable single-cell and spatial multi-omic technologies to jointly measure DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility, gene expression, and genome organization. We also build computational methods to integrate these measurements and reconstruct regulatory mechanisms underlying cell fate decisions.
Current research directions include technology development, gene regulation, cell-fate mapping, hematopoiesis, aging, neurodegeneration, and cancer.

Candidates
Your Qualifications
Postdoctoral candidates should hold a PhD or MD/PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, computational biology, or a related field.
Candidates should be able to work independently and communicate effectively with collaborators from diverse experimental and computational backgrounds. Prior experience with next-generation sequencing, single-cell genomics, molecular biology, or programming is helpful but not required.
Applicants with BA/BS or MA/MS degrees may also be considered for Research Associate positions.
